Testing for a revolutionary, autonomous, hydrogen-powered vessel has been set, taking place at Turnchapel Wharf in 2024.
The long term aim of the project, from a consortium led by Acua Ocean, is to develop an unmanned cargo vessel that can safely operate between Aberdeen, Orkney and Shetland in Scotland.
After securing a £3.5million funding from the UK Government, the development of a smaller, twin hull vessel has sped up and is now scheduled to begin trials, Harbour Acceptance Tests and Site Acceptance Tests in March-June 2024.
